Legal & disclaimers
Nature of content
Basis publishes research, analysis, and opinion about publicly made claims, based on cited public sources and onchain data. Content is provided for informational purposes only and reflects the state of evidence as of the stated check date. It is not financial, investment, legal, accounting, or tax advice, and it is not a recommendation or solicitation to buy, sell, or hold any asset.
Status labels
Status labels (verified, partially verified, unverified, disputed, stale) describe the relationship between a specific claim and the public evidence we located. They are statements about evidence, not about any person's or team's intent, honesty, or character. “Unverified” means no independent footprint was found — it does not mean a claim is false. “Disputed” means primary evidence conflicts with a claim as circulated — it does not mean anyone intended to mislead.
Estimates and heuristics
Sybil-adjusted figures, reliability scores, and similar outputs are estimates produced by published heuristics with stated assumptions and known error modes. Raw figures are always presented alongside adjusted ones. Methodology is open source and scores are reproducible; where an estimate is methodology-limited, it is labeled as such.
Corrections
Any project or person named in Basis content may submit a correction with supporting evidence to corrections@basis.watch. We acknowledge within 2 business days. Substantiated corrections are applied, versioned, anchored onchain, and logged in a public changelog. We correct errors prominently and promptly.
No warranties; limitation of liability
Content is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Sources may change or disappear after our check date. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Basis and its contributors are not liable for any loss arising from use of or reliance on this content.
Independence
Basis has no token, holds no custody of user funds, and takes no positions in assets it covers. Paid services (API access, verification, diligence) never change a label: evidence standards are identical for customers and non-customers, and commercial relationships are disclosed in any report where they could matter.
Trademarks and fair use
